A project by the Jinchuan Group R&D Center won third prize in technological innovation at the 4th Gansu Enterprise Science and Technology Innovation Competition on Oct 23.
The project, "Research and Industrial Demonstration Application of Intelligent Prediction Technology for Key Indicators of Smelting Furnaces," was recognized for its technical foundation, on-site application value, and outstanding results.
The competition focused on industrial digitalization, technological innovation, and research application, attracting 280 companies and 714 projects from across the province.
The R&D center addressed industry challenges in nickel pyrometallurgical furnaces, where operations are treated as a black box, indicator testing lags, and control relies on experience.
The project uses mechanism-data integrated modeling to enable online intelligent prediction and trend forecasting of key process indicators for Jinchuan's nickel smelting furnaces, providing digital support for production control and process optimization. The system has independent intellectual property rights and can be applied to various nonferrous pyrometallurgical scenarios.
Next, the R&D center will increase research investment, strengthen its talent team, and focus on integrating metallurgical mechanisms with industrial data to accelerate application and support intelligent, low-carbon development.
