Guangxi Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Co, a subsidiary of Jinchuan Group, has had its 5.3 MWp distributed photovoltaic (PV) project selected as a national smart PV model project, making it the only industrial PV project in Guangxi to make the list.
The PV project uses existing roof, pond, and carport space without adding industrial construction land, and follows a self-generation, self-consumption, and surplus-to-grid model, supplying clean power to smelting and staff living areas.
Designed for high-salinity, humid, corrosive, and typhoon-prone conditions, the project uses weather-resistant modules, hot-dip galvanized supports, and typhoon-resistant anchoring. High-performance string inverters and an integrated smart monitoring platform also enable real-time monitoring and fault alerts.
The project is expected to exceed 1,000 equivalent utilization hours a year and generate green power over 25 years, cutting carbon emissions and providing a hardware basis for China Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) trading. It offers a replicable model for coastal industrial enterprises and nonferrous metal industrial parks.
