Jinchuan Group's Tibet Tianyuan Mining Resources Development Co donated 6 million yuan ($894,197.88) on Sept 4 to support communities affected by a devastating mudslide on the Nepal side on Aug 26, which caused significant casualties and left people missing near Gyirong Port in Shigatse, Xizang autonomous region.
The Shigatse City Charity Association will manage the donation through a dedicated account, ensuring the funds are used exclusively for the intended purposes. These include relocating and resettling affected people, providing basic living support, conducting emergency rescue operations, and supporting post-disaster reconstruction efforts.
Tibet Tianyuan Mining Resources Development Co has consistently prioritized local development and responded swiftly to disaster relief efforts following the mudslide. By promptly organizing the donation, the company demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility and its role as a State-owned enterprise.
