At Jinchuan Group Wire and Cable Co, refined copper plates are transformed into high-purity copper rods, essential for ultra-fine 0.05 millimeter enameled wires used in the medical and aerospace industries.
Producing such high-quality copper rods is a significant achievement in China. The R&D team relocated their lab to the production line, refining each process step — from smelting to surface treatment. Through real-time monitoring and intelligent alerts, they overcame challenges like wire breakage, achieving precise control over oxygen content and copper powder quality.
At Jinchuan Group Nickel and Cobalt Co's nickel smelter, a new production line for high-quality nickel-based materials highlights the strength of Jinchuan's precision manufacturing. Completing production in just 16 days, the project underscores "Jinchuan speed." The starting sheet processing and electro-nickel loading unit, developed in-house, breaks foreign monopolies, reducing costs to just one-fifth of imported alternatives.
Moreover, Jinchuan Group Precision Copper Products Co has domesticated the production of 4N5 high-purity oxygen-free copper, crucial for medical and semiconductor applications. By pioneering non-vacuum smelting techniques, Jinchuan fulfills urgent national needs and steps into new markets.
"Though the dream remains distant, persistence makes it attainable," said Wang Yanfeng, general manager of Precision Copper Products Co. Jinchuan's journey of innovation turns challenges into opportunities.
