Party member volunteers from Jinchuan Group Nickel and Cobalt Co's Nickel Smelter held their Party Day activity in the desert of Minqin county, Wuwei, Gansu province, on March 28, bringing a splash of green to the rolling yellow dunes.
Volunteers dug pits, positioned saplings, filled soil, and compacted the earth. Though inexperienced, they quickly found their footing.
The newly planted trees join the existing 351 public welfare forests, forming a continuous green belt stretching deep into the desert.
Six Party branches from the company participated in this tree-planting campaign, covering core production links including pyrometallurgical smelting and hydrometallurgical refining. The teams often cooperate in workshops, but efforts beyond that have been hampered by physical boundaries and professional differences.
By working together on the tree-planting effort, they broke down barriers between departments and strengthened collaboration.
The event was more than a voluntary tree-planting activity. It was a shining example of the company's Party-building leadership in deepening coordination and upstream-downstream cooperation.
The teamwork built during the activity will help improve operations and efficiency in the company's nickel business.
