Updated : March 25, 2026

Since establishing its operations in the Sakania region of Haut-Katanga province, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Kinsenda Copper Co., Ltd has consistently invested in medical resources, building two hospitals for local employees and their families.

The hospitals currently have 14 medical staff, four departments, and 400 pharmaceutical suppliers. On average, employees visit the hospitals 2,782 times a year, while family members account for nearly 12,000 visits.

Since 2013, the company has covered free medical expenses for employees totaling $7.33 million, greatly improving local healthcare conditions. The company also regularly organizes free medical campaigns, offering basic health check-ups, specialized treatments, and free medicines.

In 2025, it further strengthened the public health system by constructing a morgue to enhance emergency preparedness.

In parallel, since 2018, the company has allocated 0.3 percent of its annual turnover to community development, contributing a total of $4.66 million. These funds support community infrastructure, improve living conditions, enhance residents' sense of well-being, and help foster a harmonious and mutually beneficial relationship between the mining operation and the local community.
