Promote industrial transformation and upgrading. Implement energy-saving and carbon-reducing technology upgrades in nickel and copper smelting, advance traditional basic products towards new energy battery materials and deep processing, and enhance product added value. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), Jinchuan Group will see its carbon dioxide emissions of total industrial output value to decrease by 62% compared to that at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20).
Continuously optimize energy structure. Seize the opportunity of national new energy development, expand the scale of wind and solar power, and enhance the capacity for renewable energy integration. With investment in distributed photovoltaic and centralized photovoltaic power stations, the group will see its total installed capacity exceeding 500,000 kilowatts, generating 890 million kWh annually and reducing carbon emissions by 495,000 tons.
Advance emission reduction and carbon reduction efforts. Through implementing emission reduction projects such as nickel-copper sulfuric acid tail gas treatment, environmental gas collection and standard treatment projects, and ultra-low emission transformations for cogeneration units, the group will achieve its smelting flue gas sulfur dioxide resource utilization and reduction goals. A 50,000 t/d sewage treatment plant and an 8,000 t/d heavy metal ion wastewater treatment plant have been constructed, achieving zero wastewater discharge.
Build a green manufacturing system targeting energy decarbonization, resource efficiency, production cleanliness and product greening to continuously enhance the value and eco-friendly practices of Jinchuan's industrial economic development. Four national-level and two provincial-level green factories have been established.
