The intelligent storage and transportation system for Jinchuan Group's 400,000-ton/year intelligent copper electrolysis project is now fully operational.
The project site
The 400,000-ton/year intelligent copper electrolysis project by Jinchuan is a major provincial construction project and one of the key projects implemented during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) in the Hexipu Industrial Park of Jinchang Economic and Technological Development Zone.
The project adopts an advanced stainless steel permanent cathode electrolysis process with low energy consumption and high electrical efficiency. Based on industrial Ethernet, it achieves intelligent communication coverage for electrolytic cranes and units, enabling smart transportation of anode plates and cathode copper products, online automatic detection of electrolytic cells, and unmanned driving and intelligent dispatching of loading and unloading equipment.
The intelligent storage and transportation system for copper anode plates is a key component of the intelligent construction of Jinchuan's 400,000-ton/year intelligent copper electrolysis project. It employs advanced technologies such as low-voltage rail power supply, servo control, industrial IoT, RFID and intelligent data analysis. This system enables fully automated and unmanned operations for the handling, shaping, storage, retrieval and transportation of copper anode plates from the disc casting system to the electrolysis units, significantly enhancing the efficiency of copper anode plate storage and transportation, while making the onsite environment safer and more environmentally friendly.
The project site
According to technical personnel working on the project, the launch of the intelligent storage and transportation system for copper anode plates is a milestone for Jinchuan's intelligent manufacturing and digital factories, giving the copper industry a "smart wing" to soar.
The project team will continue to improve data decision-making processes, quickly responding to changes in electrolysis system demands through big data analysis, making production and logistics adjustments, and promoting the copper electrolysis process towards higher efficiency, greener and smarter development.
