With these features, nickel is used in the production of nickel steel and various types of alloys, as well as for electroplating and coin minting.
In the past, there were no mature processes or specialized equipment available for cutting nickel during the production of coins. To tackle this problem, Jinchuan’s Nickel Smelting Plant formed a team to analyze the parameters. After countless trials and innovations, the team eventually succeeded in producing small pieces of nickel that met the cutting requirements, receiving high recognition from the minting factory.
Apart from that, the high-temperature master alloy processing material developed by Jinchuan Group is also used in China's aerospace industry. With its advanced copper alloy equipment, Jinchuan has a significant comparative advantage in the production of large-diameter corrosion-resistant copper-nickel alloy pipes in China.
Jinchuan Group’s accomplishments are also showcased in the new energy vehicles industry. Leveraging its resource advantages, it has identified the development of new materials for new energy vehicle batteries as a key focus in this important industry. The company has developed lithium-ion battery and nickel-metal hydride battery cathode materials and their precursors, hydrogen storage alloy powders, carbonyl nickel powders for batteries, and battery-grade nickel strips and lithium copper foils required for battery production. Currently, the company has an annual production capacity of 80,000 tons of battery-grade nickel sulfate, 30,000 tons of lithium-ion battery cathode materials, 70,000 tons of lithium-ion battery cathode ternary precursors, 11,500 tons of cobalt trioxide, and 600 tons of hydrogen storage alloy powders.
