In 2023, Jinchuan Group's Niedu Industrial Heavy Equipment Company and India's Adani Group Kuchi Copper Limited have carried out international trade supply cooperation agreement for non-standard metallurgical equipment. The company has contracted to manufacture metallurgical equipment and provide technical services for Kuchi Copper's 500,000 tons/year copper smelting project, marking its first entry into the South Asian market.
"This year, our orders are abundant. From January to September, our operating income has reached 170 million yuan (about $23.29 million), with a profit of 3.9 million yuan," said Yan Jun, deputy manager of Niedu Industrial Heavy Equipment Company.
Transformation and innovation facilitate production
Equipment manufacturing is one of the important industries of Jinchuan Group. From the establishment of Jinchuan Machinery Repair Factory in 1961 to the 40 years before the company's restructuring in 2001, Jinchuan's manufacturing subsidiaries mainly engaged in the production of spare parts, and equipment installation and maintenance.
In 2001, Jinchuan Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was established, and the Jinchuan equipment manufacturing industry developed and expanded rapidly. In addition, the company has exported its mining and metallurgical equipment to over 20 provinces in China and to more than 10 countries.
After being restructured and formed into Jinchuan’s Heavy Equipment Company by Niedu Industrial Company, it has optimized its asset structure and adjusted the business layout, as well as sought breakthroughs to market exploration.
With two years of transformation and development, the company has turned losses into profits and undergone a profound change.
In 2023, while providing complete sets of process equipment manufacturing and installation services for major projects, Jinchuan’s Heavy Equipment actively expands domestic and foreign customer resources. Through equipment technology improvement and core process problem solving, it has undertaken metallurgical furnace projects in several provinces in China, as well as in India and Congo (Kinshasa) and other foreign countries.
