The Jinchuan Group Nickel Salt Company has been driving the development of automobile battery, battery recycling and other enterprises in the industry chain. At present, only two companies in the world can produce nickel chloride products, and Jinchuan Group Nickel Salt is one of them. In order to improve the market competitiveness, this year, the company has made efforts to increase procurement reserves and supply, completing the monthly plan and achieving a good start in the first month of 2023. During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), with the implementation of 10 projects in the nickel industry chain, Jinchuan Group is expected to increase its output value by over 40 billion yuan (about $5.8 million).
In January 2023, the total industrial output value of Jinchuan Group reached 17.3 billion yuan, with an increase of 18.8% year-on-year. In addition to achieving an excellent start to 2023, the company aims to strive for the further accomplishments throughout the year.
In Jinchuan's nickel smelter, it takes just 2 seconds to produce high nickel matte, which is the production raw material required by the downstream industry. This flash smelting furnace, with high production and low consumption, is the first nickel flash smelting furnace in Asia. From 1% to 45%, the nickel content of high nickel matte has increased significantly since being processed in the flash furnace workshop. Since 1992, Jinchuan Group has continued to carry out technical transformation on the nickel flash furnace in a bid to enable the equipment to reach its highest potential.

Jinchuan has the largest electrolytic nickel production workshop in Asia. Here, 576 electrolytic cells ensure the production and supply of 60,000 tons of electrolytic nickel products every year. Not only having achieved a large quantity of electrolytic nickel products, the company has also promoted the innovation and upgrading of the technologies in order to purify the nickel content of the company’s products. At present, the electrolytic nickel products produced here are of high quality, with the nickel content reaching over 99.96% in the special nickel used for electroplating.
The specialized team and experts of Jinchuan Group have contributed to the development of the company. Pan Congming, who has worked for the company for 26 years, improved the purification process of the precious metal to keep 99.99% purity of Jinchuan precious metal products for 35 consecutive years.
Turning chemical elements in ores into metal products has been the mission of generations of Jinchuan's people, and deriving more new materials from metal products is the task of Jinchuan Group in the new era. In 2022, the total industrial output value of the company was 219.9 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 34.9%, and the company ranked 100th among the top 500 Chinese enterprises. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the total industrial output value of Jinchuan is expected to reach 350 billion yuan.
