Through implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development, Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park has applied measures such as an open competition mechanism to select the best candidates of scientific research projects and a project leader competition system, constantly stimulating the endogenous power of scientific researchers, and steadily promoting scientific and technological innovation in key industries.

In 2022, Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park has undertaken one innovation consortium project in Gansu province, one project that applied the open competition mechanism in Lanzhou, four major special projects of Jinchuan Group and five projects independently implemented by the Science and Technology Park, and nine application achievements have been formed. Furthermore, 39 patents were applied for, 10 patents were newly authorized, and the total number of authorized patents in the park has reached 108. It won second prize for scientific and technological progress in Gansu province, and completed three evaluations of scientific and technological achievements in Gansu, all of which reached the international advanced level. Additionally, it won the title of "China's excellent technology", the first prize of the China Productivity Promotion Awards, and third prize in Excellent Technical Standards of Nonferrous Metals.
