Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd., a conglomerate owned by the Gansu Provincial People's Government, is engaged in mining, mineral processing, smelting, chemical engineering and intensive processing. With a history of more than six decades, Jinchuan Group is engaged in the exploration of nonferrous metal mineral resources in collaboration with its partners in over 30 countries and regions. It has established the annual capacity of producing 230,000 tons of nickel, 1.1 million tons of copper, 17,000 tons of cobalt, 100,000 tons of platinum group metals, 30 tons of gold, 600 tons of silver, 220 tons of selenium and 6 million tons of chemical products.
In 2022, its output of nickel and cobalt ranked fourth, respectively, in the world; the output of copper ranked fourth in China; the output of platinum group metals ranked first in Asia.
Jinchuan Group boasts state-of-the-art equipment and technologies: the nickel flash smelting furnace, the fifth of its kind in the world and the first in Asia; the integrated copper smelting furnace, an invention worldwide; the oxygen-enriched top-submerged lance nickel smelting furnace, the first of its kind in the world; and the mechanized downward back-filling mining method with the world’s largest continuous stoping area.
In 2023, Jinchuan Group ranks 289th on the Fortune Global 500, 85th on 2023 Fortune China 500, 84th among the top 500 Chinese enterprises, and 32nd among the top 500 Chinese manufacturing enterprises.
