On Jan 3, Jinchuan Group signed a cooperation agreement with Wu Aixiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of Science and Technology in Beijing, to establish the Jinchuan Group Academician Expert Workstation.

The signing of this agreement aims to establish a collaborative innovation system that integrates industry, academia, and research, accelerate the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, and promote the high-quality development of China's nickel-cobalt industry. The two sides will make full use of the academician expert workstation to deepen exchanges and cooperation, jointly promote scientific and technological innovation in key areas and critical processes of non-ferrous metallurgy, and provide new impetus for the high-quality development of Jinchuan Group.
The workstation will primarily focus on addressing major technological challenges in the innovative development of Jinchuan Group. Key areas of focus include the development of the Jinchuan IV mining area, the research and application promotion of paste filling technology, and digital transformation technology and its application in Jinchuan's mining operations.
The workstation is expected to further promote the transformation and promotion of the technical achievements of academician Wu Aixiang and his team within Jinchuan Group. The aim is to cultivate independent intellectual property rights and proprietary brand technologies, while continuously providing strategic advice and technical guidance for the development of Jinchuan Group and the national key laboratory to further develop and effectively utilize their nickel-cobalt associated resources.
By leveraging the academicians and their teams, the workstation will jointly establish a talent training base to cultivate high-level innovative talents and establish a high-end think tank.
