The nickel smelter is the largest main process production unit of Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd., and it has six production systems: pyrometallurgy, hydrorefining, gasification metallurgy, the separation of high grade nickel matte through the flotation process, comprehensive recovery, and flue gas treatment.
It boasts the first nickel flash smelting furnace in Asia and the fifth in the world, the oxygen-enriched top-submerged lance nickel smelting furnace with the largest processing capacity worldwide, and the world's first non-submerged pure oxygen top-blowing self-heating furnace for nickel-containing copper concentrate processing.

It also possesses a 10Kt/a carbonyl nickel production line and a 5Kt/a carbonyl iron production line, and has the smelting and processing capacity to handle complex polymetallic nickel sulfide concentrates and laterite nickel ore intermediates.
With an annual capacity of 170,000 metric tons, the nickel smelter is the largest nickel production base in China. Its Golden Camel-branded electrolytic nickel was registered on the London Metal Exchange in 1995 and was listed among the first series of brands to win the title of "China Well-known Trademarks". In 2018, its mineral nickel products were rated as champion products in the manufacturing sector nationwide.
Jinchuan Group Copper Co., Ltd. is the largest copper smelting enterprise in Northwest China, and is also a platinum group precious metal refining base. Specialized in smelting, processing, and the comprehensive recovery of copper, precious metal mineral raw materials and other resources, the company has the production capacity of 600,000 metric tons of high-purity cathode copper, 30 metric tons of gold, 600 metric tons of silver, 100 metric tons of 5N high-purity copper, 2,000 metric tons of copper foil, 7,000 kilograms of platinum group metals, 200 metric tons of selenium products, 20 metric tons of refined tellurium, 3,000 metric tons of high-purity copper sulfate, and 21,000 metric tons of electroplated copper sulfate and industrial copper sulfate, with an annual revenue of more than 30 billion yuan ($4.45 billion).
Lanzhou Jinchuan Technology Park Co., Ltd. has an electro deposited cobalt production capacity of 5,000 metric tons per year. The product is primarily used in aerospace materials, magnetic materials, and special cemented carbide. At present, the company has a 45 percent share of China’s electro deposited cobalt market and an eight percent share overseas.
