Jinchuan Group Co.,Ltd., a conglomerate owned by the Gansu Provincial People's Government, is engaged in mining, mineral processing, smelting, chemical engineering and intensive processing. With a history of more than six decades, Jinchuan Group is engaged in the exploration of nonferrous metal mineral resources in collaboration with its partners in over 30 countries and regions. It has established the annual capacity of producing 200,000 tons of nickel, one million tons of copper, 15,000 tons of cobalt, 7,000 kilograms of platinum group metals, 30 tons of gold, 600 tons of silver, 200 tons of selenium and 5.6 million tons of chemical products.
In 2021, Jinchuan Group was rated as the third largest nickel producer and fourth largest cobalt producer in the world. Its annual production of copper ranked fourth in China and its platinum group metals output ranked first in Asia.
Jinchuan Group boasts state-of-the-art equipment and technologies: the nickel flash smelting furnace, the fifth of its kind in the world and the first in Asia; the integrated copper smelting furnace, an invention worldwide; the oxygen-enriched top-submerged lance nickel smelting furnace, the first of its kind in the world; and the mechanized downward back-filling mining method with the world’s largest continuous stoping area.
In 2021, Jinchuan Group ranked 336th on the Fortune Global 500, 94th and 35th respectively among the top 500 Chinese enterprises and manufacturers, and 59th among the top 100 Chinese multinationals. In 2022, the group ranked 339th in the list of 2022 Fortune Global 500 companies.
